Tigers Battle Hard, Fall in Five-Set Boys Volleyball Thriller Against Leo

WARSAW – The Warsaw Tigers came up just short in a tightly contested five-set match against the visiting Leo Lions on Monday night, falling 20-25, 26-24, 25-22, 19-25, 7-15. The loss drops the Tigers to 8-6 on the season. The Tigers were led by a strong group of contributors. Finn Bailey anchored the back row with 19 digs. Andy Vass orchestrated the offense with 28 assists, while also contributing 13 digs and 4 blocks. Levi Brath made his presence felt at the net with 6 kills and 7 blocks, and Miles Rager powered the attack with 19 kills and 7 blocks. Logan Carl added 15 digs, and Ricky Anacleto chipped in 9 digs and an ace. The evening started on a high note for Warsaw, as the JV squad edged out Leo in a back-and-forth battle with scores of 25-23, 20-25, 19-17. Ryan Carnes led the team with 9 assists and 3 digs. Cadyn Greer tallied 4 kills and 3 blocks, Nolan Haussmann recorded 5 kills and 3 aces, and Patryck Bocianski added 4 aces, 2 kills, and a block. Cale Meridew anchored the defense with 7 digs. The Tigers will look to bounce back on Thursday as they travel to Fort Wayne to take on South Side High School. The JV match is set to begin at 5:00 PM with Varsity to follow at 6:30 PM.
