The Warsaw Tigers showed resilience and growth on the road, bouncing back after a first-set loss to defeat DeKalb in four sets (19-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-10) Thursday. After dropping the opener, the Tigers found their rhythm and controlled the match the rest of the way, finishing strong with a dominant fourth set. The offense was efficiently directed by Patryck Bocianski and Mac Tucker, who dished out 15 and 19 assists respectively, keeping the attack balanced and difficult to defend. At the net, Warsaw spread the scoring across multiple hitters, led by Ben Harlan’s 10 kills, Cadyn Greer’s 9, Levi Brath’s 7, and Logan Carl’s 6. The Tigers also made their presence felt defensively at the net, with Brath tallying 4 blocks, Greer adding 3, and Harlan contributing 2. From the service line, Warsaw applied steady pressure, highlighted by 4 aces from Mac Tucker and 3 from Logan Carl. Defensively, the Tigers were anchored by Silas Hill with 14 digs, Sam Bowers with 12, and Carl with 10, helping turn defense into offense throughout the match. With the win, Warsaw heads into Spring Break with a solid 3-2 record and plenty of momentum. The time off comes at a great point in the season, giving the team a chance to recover and reset before returning to action on the road at Homestead on Monday, April 13th. The JV Tigers also continued their strong play, earning a straight-set victory (25-14, 25-20) to improve to 4-1 on the season. Mason Silveus led the offense with 5 kills, while Fisher Whitaker added 3. Ryan Carnes (6 assists) and Barrett Hodorek (7 assists) guided the attack, with Milo Van Der Molen contributing 2 blocks. Defensively, Ethan Wolfe and Luis Neumann each chipped in 2 digs. Overall, both varsity and JV squads are trending in a very positive direction, showing depth, balance, and continued improvement as the season progresses. The future looks bright for the Tigers as they head into the heart of their schedule.
