Warsaw Tigers Take Down SB Riley on the Road

The Warsaw Tigers continued to show growth and resilience on the road with a solid four-set victory over South Bend Riley, winning 25-21, 16-25, 25-20, 25-18. With the win, Warsaw improves to 2-1 on the young season and continues trending in a positive direction. After taking the opening set with strong, composed play, the Tigers faced a setback in set two as Riley responded. Warsaw regrouped effectively, showing maturity and consistency the rest of the way by controlling the tempo and closing out sets three and four with confidence. Senior Logan Carl led the way with an all-around performance, tallying 4 aces, 29 digs, and 5 kills. Junior Mac Tucker contributed an ace and guided the offense with 15 assists. At the net, senior Levi Brath was a force with 4 kills and 5 blocks, while junior Cadyn Greer anchored the defense with 6 blocks to go along with 2 kills. Sophomore Patryck Bocianski filled the stat sheet with 7 assists, 14 digs, 4 kills, and 3 aces, continuing to be a versatile presence for the Tigers. Junior Ben Harlan added 4 kills and an ace. Defensively, freshman libero Sam Bowers was outstanding with 25 digs, supported by sophomore Silas Hill’s 10 digs. Freshman CJ Hutton made his presence known at the net with 5 blocks. The JV squad also had a strong showing, earning a straight-set win with scores of 25-20, 25-21. Jonah Burgher led the offense with 6 kills, while Mason Silveus added 2, Luis Neumann contributed 3, and Matthew Pierce chipped in 3 kills. The defense was steady, led by Ethan Wolfe with 7 digs and John Conley with 4. Offensively, Ryan Carnes dished out 8 assists, with Barrett Hodorek adding 7 assists in a well-balanced attack. "Overall, both varsity and JV squads are showing steady improvement and cohesion early in the season, Coach Jason Fleming said after the match." The Tigers are building momentum and will look to carry that forward as they return to the court tomorrow night at home against Penn.
