The Warsaw JV football team battled hard but came up short in a 22-16 loss at Northwood on Saturday. The game saw Northwood score touchdowns in the first and second quarter, heading into halftime with a commanding 16-0 score. The TIGERS opened up the second half with a 80 yard drive led by Brady Sauer that was capped off with a Jack Bradford rushing TD making the score 16-8. After trading possessions in the third quarter Northwood eventually scored on a short field increasing the lead to 22-8. In the final quarter Clayton Dias broke free for a 70 yard run that set up a rushing TD by Mason Silveus cutting the Panther lead to 22-16. Despite the late rally, Warsaw couldn’t overcome the early deficit, and Northwood was able to hold on to the football and seal the victory with a final score of 22-16. The loss moves Warsaw’s JV squad to 4-4 on the season, with a 3-3 record in Northern Lakes Conference (NLC) play. The team looks to end the season at Northridge this Saturday, October 18, with a 10:00 AM kickoff.
