The Warsaw girls soccer team was looking for a signature win in their match at home against Penn Thursday night. They got exactly that. The Lady Tigers earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over Penn at the Tiger Athletic Complex. The game was scoreless until there were just over 6 minutes left to play. That's when Evie Pepper's free kick was knocked into the net by Amy Escutia Palacios to give Warsaw the lead. The defensive unit, led by goalie Audi Gonzales, and what Coach Zach Harding calls "the defensive 5"--Annaka Scholl, Haidyn Elliot, Reagan Finch, Reese Jackson, and Isabella Lara--made that lone goal stand up. Warsaw is 6-4-1 on the season.
