Tiger Varsity Baseball Tames RedHawks on Road

The Tiger varsity baseball team picked up a come-from-behind road win at Goshen Friday, taking down the 'Hawks 8-3 at the new Goshen baseball/softball complex. With Warsaw already up 4-2 after 5 innings, The Tigers added 4 more runs in their half of the 6th to put the game on ice. The top three batters in the Tiger order--Wyatt Stapleton, Quinton Brock and Grady Nelson--went a combined 6-11 at the plate with 5 runs scores and 3 batted in. Brandt Martin pitched a complete game for Warsaw, allowing 3 earned runs while scattering 7 hits and striking out 5. 62 of his 91 pitches were strikes. The junior varsity Tigers scored 2 in the top of the 7th to take a brief lead over Goshen only to see the 'Hawks answer with 2 in the bottom of the 7th to claim a 13-12 win over the Tigers.
