Big Innings have become a big thing for the Warsaw baseball team. The Tigers used a 5-run 2nd inning to pull away to a big 10-4 road win at Manchester Saturday. Warsaw Varsity Tigers were the first to get on the board in the first when an error scored one run. In the fateful 2nd inning, Wyatt Stapleton grounded out, scoring one run; Quinton Brock singled, scoring two runs; and Kellan Bailey homered to right field with a man aboard. A single by Stapleton extended the Warsaw Varsity Tigers lead to 8-0 in the top of the third inning. Brandt Martin earned the win for Warsaw, surrendering 5 hits and 2 unearned runs over 4.1 innings, striking out 5 and walking. Teegan Snyder took the loss for the Squires. Rogan Bailey led Warsaw Varsity Tigers with two hits in four at bats. Stapleton had three runs batted in. The Tigers were aggressive on the bases, stealing 11 bases for the game. Warsaw Varsity Tigers will travel to NorthWood Varsity Panthers for their next game on Monday.
