The Warsaw Lady Tigers wrapped up the regular season Saturday at Ox Bow Park with a strong second-place finish at the Northern Lakes Conference Championship, scoring 43 points behind a very good Northridge team. The Tigers put together a competitive team effort and head into the postseason with plenty of momentum. Dani Rastrelli once again paced the Lady Tigers, earning 2nd overall in 18:56.18. The Tigers then saw a big move up the lineup from Cecilia Scheetz-Holland, who turned in an outstanding performance to finish 6th overall with a new PR of 20:02.78. Matilda Granger followed closely behind, placing 7th in 20:07.16, while Savannah Purdy locked in a 14th-place finish in 20:45.49. Eden Gackenheimer continued the Tigers' strong pack with a 16th-place finish in 20:56.03. Isadora Vega finished 18th in 21:02.60, and Kyla Transparenti rounded out the varsity lineup in 23rd at 21:22.25. The Tigers also had a strong showing in the JV race. Katie Robertson led the way with a 3rd-place finish in 21:23.57, followed by Reegan DeMange in 4th at 21:27.01. Stephanie Malagon crossed in 5th at 21:37.65, with Greta Loebs taking 7th in 22:04.25. Baylee Wieringa completed the Tiger scoring group with an 8th-place finish in 22:12.21. The Lady Tigers finished the regular season on a positive note, recording ten new personal records. While the Tigers came up short of the conference championship, the depth, competitiveness, and continued improvement throughout the lineup provide plenty to build on heading into the postseason. The regular season is now in the books, and the focus shifts to championship season. The Lady Tigers will open postseason competition at the IHSAA Sectional at Manchester on October 17 at 10:30 AM. The regular season is over. The postseason is next. It's time to compete.
