The Warsaw Tigers traveled to Andrew’s Field at NorthWood High School and came away with a hard-fought 58–50 victory over the Panthers. NorthWood’s rushing attack gave the Tigers fits all night long, but Warsaw’s offense continued to produce enough big plays to secure the win. Senior Yohannes Schmitt once again turned in a strong all-around performance, contributing multiple touchdown runs to lead the Tigers’ offensive attack. Garrett Davis made his debut for Warsaw at tight end and immediately made an impact, hauling in four passes in his first game at the position. Anna Seewald and Lillie Jarrett once again did a tremendous job anchoring the Tiger offense from the center position, helping Warsaw consistently move the football. Defensively, Sensi Sprankle came up big for the Tigers, making it difficult for the Panthers to find open space and helping Warsaw slow down NorthWood’s attack. Special teams also played a role in the victory. Susan Spencer ran in an extra point following Nathan Nettie’s second-half touchdown run. Seewald and Sprankle also found the end zone on rushing touchdowns, with both scores proving to be especially important as the Tigers battled the Panthers throughout the night. It was a complete team effort from Warsaw, as the Tigers answered NorthWood’s offensive pressure with enough production of their own to walk away with a 58–50 victory. The Tigers are back in action next week with trips to Goshen and Elkhart.
