The Warsaw girls and boys cross country teams hosted the second round of the Northern Lakes Conference round robin regular season competition Thursday night at the Warsaw Course. GIRLS RACE RECAP The Warsaw Lady Tigers raced NLC #2 on their home course, using the meet as a planned attack and an opportunity to tempo run with purpose while testing different race tactics. Warsaw finished 2nd as a team with a score of 70, continuing to build momentum through the middle of the season. Isadora Vega led the Tigers across the finish line, followed by Dani Rastrelli. Matilda Granger, Savannah Purdy, and Eden Gackenheimer rounded out the Tiger scoring five. The focus was not simply on chasing the clock, but on executing the race plan, testing different strategies, and gaining valuable experience that can be carried into the upcoming races. The Lady Tigers will split the varsity squad this Saturday, September 19. One group will travel to Carmel for the Flashrock Invite at North Church, with the race beginning at 9:00 AM. The other squad will compete at the West Noble Invite, which begins at 8:30 AM. BOYS RACE RECAP The Tigers came in 5th as a team with a score of 100. Eli Swinehart was fastest for the Tigers with a time of 17:22 and a 14th place finish. Teammate Keenan Lyions was right behind in 15th with a time of 17:27.
