The Warsaw Tigers earned a hard-fought 28-26 victory over South Bend Adams on Tuesday night in a thrilling Unified Flag Football matchup. From the opening snap, Warsaw showed that it was ready to compete with energy, quickly establishing an offensive rhythm against an Adams team that brought a dangerous defensive attack to the field. The Tigers’ early success came through the passing game, where Evan Goshert delivered one of the night’s biggest plays when he connected with Yohannes Schmitt on a 30-yard touchdown pass. Goshert’s throw found Schmitt in stride, and he did the rest, turning the opportunity into a touchdown and giving Warsaw momentum early in the contest. The Tigers’ early lead would prove especially important in a game that eventually came down to the final possessions. Autumn Columbia also got into the act with several gritty possessions on both sides of the ball in the second game of a young and promising career. Behind that explosive start was a night of remarkable consistency from Warsaw’s snap operation. Anna Seewald and Lillian Jarrett handled the responsibility of snapping the ball flawlessly throughout the contest, providing the foundation for the Tigers’ offense and helping the team maintain its rhythm. There were fireworks early in the second half when Mason Anderson broke loose for a 55-yard touchdown, giving the Tigers a huge scoring play and restoring momentum to the Warsaw sideline. Anna Seewald added another important contribution with a 12-yard touchdown run for the extra points, helping Warsaw extend its advantage and ultimately secure the victory.
