By Roger Grossman | Jun 22, 2026 1:20 PM
Andy Manes has informed the Warsaw Athletic Department that he is stepping down as baseball coach. Manes has been the Tigers’ coach for the past seven seasons and compiled a record of 110-85. “This has been one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make,” Manes says. “For weeks, I have wrestled with this choice, spending countless hours in prayer, reflection, and conversation with my wife, family, and mentors. Walking away from something that has meant so much to me brings a tremendous amount of heartache.” He also expressed his appreciation to everyone associated with Warsaw Athletics. “I want to express my sincere gratitude to Warsaw Community High School and the athletic department for entrusting me with the opportunity to lead this program. It has been an honor to wear the Tiger uniform for eight seasons and represent a tradition that means so much to this community. To the players, I hope they know how much they have meant to me. They have been the reason I looked forward to every practice, every game, and every season. I will always be one of their biggest supporters, and I sincerely hope they continue to grow, compete, and represent Warsaw Baseball with pride.” Brandon Scott has been named interim head baseball coach effective immediately. The head baseball coaching position will be posted online next week. Qualified and interested candidates may apply at https://warsawcom.schoolspring.com/.
