In a season of close games for the Tiger baseball team, it was a close loss that ended their season. Warsaw fell 3-2 in the opening game of the Goshen Sectional Wednesday night. The Tigers had a 2-1 leading heading into the bottom of the 7th inning, but Goshen plated the tying and winning runs in their last at bat to advance to the semifinals. Warsaw took a 1-0 lead in the 3rd when Logan Kim doubled home the game’s first run. Brody Heady came through with an RBI hit in the 4th to put the Tigers up 2-0. Goshen would answer with a run in their half of the 4th to make it 2-1 Tigers. It stayed that way until the bottom of the 7th, when the RedHawks tied the game with a bases loaded walk and won the game when Ryen Diaz stole home with 2 outs. Kim and Spencer Love each collected two hits for Warsaw. Mason O'Malley stepped on the hill first for the Tigers and allowed 1 hit and 1 run over 5 innings, striking out 2 and walking 5. Quiton Brock pitched the final 1.2 innings for Warsaw. Tonight’s box score is attached.
