Haynes Strike Outs, Big Third Inning Get Tigers in the Win Column

Mark Haynes pitching and a 5-run third inning helped Warsaw to a 9-6 win over Jimtown Thursday night at Tiger Field. Haynes struck out 10 batters as the starting pitcher while surrendering 4 runs (2 earned) on 2 hits over four innings while walking two. With the game tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the third inning, Warsaw rallied for 5 runs on 3 hits to take the lead for good. Grady Nelson hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fifth for insurance. He was 2-3 at the plate and drew a walk. Rogan Bailey and Brody Heady also had 2 hits. Ben Zartman pitched the final 3 innings for the Tigers, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and fanning a pair of Jimmies. The box score from the game is attached.
