Girls Basketball Wins 31st Straight NLC Game, Wins Big at Wawasee

The Lady Tiger basketball team used a big first half to cruise to an 89-19 win at Wawasee Saturday night. Warsaw scored 29 points in the 1st quarter and another 26 in the 2nd quarter on their way to a second-straight 80-plus-point performance. The Lady Tigers shot 35-58 from the field and 11-23 from 3-point range for the game, while holding Wawasee to only 7 field goals in 24 attempts. The big story of the night was once again the Lady Tiger defense, which forced 32 Warrior turnovers and turned that into 43 points. Brooke Zartman led Warsaw with a season-high 28 points, including 6-10 from beyond the arch--bringing her career total to 294. Joslyn Bricker added 23 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Alexis Neely scored 16, while Caleigh Goheen scored a career-high 10 points. Warsaw is 2-0 in NLC play. The junior varsity also won easily, posting a 65-13 win at Wawasee. Dani Rastrelli scored 19 points and added 7 steals, and Anya Puthucode scored 10. The girls travel to Carroll for a 6pm JV start Wednesday.
