Almost a week later than they expected, the Warsaw boys basketball team opened their 2025-26 season with a loss in the Tiger Den Friday to Homestead 48-37. The Tigers led 14-12 at the end of the 1st quarter, but were outscored 36-23 the rest of the way. Drew Jones was the leading scorer with 10 points, while Mydin Burgher, Sam Lara and Sam McDaniels each scored 8. The junior varsity lost to Homestead 58-45. Landon Kralis scored 12 and Andrew Kralis 11. The freshman team lost to the Spartans in the Career Center Gym 55-41. Landon Graham was the leading scorer with 18 points.
