It was a big night in the Tiger Den Tuesday as the Lady Tiger basketball team defeated NorthWood 84-15 to begin Northern Lakes Conference play. The victory was the 800th in the 51-year history of Warsaw girls basketball. It was the Lady Tigers' 30th consecutive NLC win. And during the 2nd quarter, Joslyn Bricker became the #2 scorer in Lady Tiger basketball history on a driving layup. Bricker ended the game with 24 points on 9-12 shooting from the field. At 1,363 career points, Bricker trails only 2004 Indiana Miss Basketball Jaclyn Leininger's 1,607 career points. Brooke Zartman had her best shooting night of the season, bagging 7 3-pointers and finishing with 23 points. Warsaw's defense was stifling, forcing 28 Lady Panther turnovers and turning them into 36 points. They held NorthWood to 7 field goals for the game. The junior varsity also won big over NorthWood 59-15. Anya Puthucode lead the JV with 18 points. Warsaw travels to Wawasee Saturday night.
